Our Mission
At Tidewater Tibetan Terriers, our mission is to raise healthy, emotionally sound puppies through intentional, ethical breeding and early enrichment. We are committed to honoring the Tibetan Terrier breed standard while nurturing each puppy in a loving, structured, and stimulating environment rooted in science and care. Our goal is to prepare every puppy for a lifetime of adaptability, confidence, and connection with their forever family.
Our Story
Hello! I’m Dolores Robison, and my journey with Tibetan Terriers began in 2016 — and I’ve never looked back. Over the years, my husband Ron and I have shared our lives with many different breeds, but none have captured our hearts quite like Tibetan Terriers. They are intelligent, sensitive, adaptable, and endlessly loving. For us, there is no other breed.
I hold a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology with a focus on infant and early childhood development. That background shaped my career as a school psychologist and deepened my understanding of how early experiences — especially in nurturing, structured, and enriched environments — shape brain development, temperament, and long-term adaptability.
That same philosophy guides the way we raise our puppies. Our approach is grounded in science, early stimulation, and love. I am deeply committed to breeding healthy, well-tempered Tibetan Terriers who meet the breed standard and thrive as cherished companions.
I am a member of the Tibetan Terrier Club of America and my dogs regularly compete in AKC conformation events. But more than anything, they are family — and our lives wouldn’t be the same without them.

What to Know About Tibetan Terriers
Tibetan Terriers are a unique, ancient breed known for their intelligence, affection, and striking good looks. Originally bred by monks in Tibetan monasteries as companion dogs and trusted watchdogs, they were often called “the Holy Dogs of Tibet.”
Today, Tibetan Terriers are cherished for their adaptable nature and strong bonds with their people. They’re just the right size — not too big, not too small — and their non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat makes them a great choice for many families.
Temperament & Traits
Tibetan Terriers are loyal, sensitive, and intuitive. They thrive in homes where they can be part of daily life, and they often become deeply attached to their people. They’re playful, curious, and alert — with just the right dash of independence.
Grooming and Care
Tibetan Terrier puppies grow into dogs with beautiful, long coats that require regular brushing and care. While they don’t shed in the traditional sense, their coats do need consistent grooming to stay tangle-free. Many owners keep their TTs in a shorter “puppy cut” for ease.
Family Fit
Tibetan Terriers are excellent companions for individuals, couples, and families alike. They do best in homes that offer structure, attention, and love — and they’re happiest when included in the daily rhythm of their people’s lives.
